Suspect sought in bank robbery

Goldsboro police need help identifying a man they say is a suspect in a Friday morning bank robbery.
Police are still looking for a light-skinned, black male -- about 5 foot, 6 inches to 5 foot 11 inches tall -- with a small build. The man, who is likely in his mid-20s, allegedly walked into the First Citizens Bank at 200 E. Ash St. Friday around 9:30 demanding money.
Goldsboro police Chief Tim Bell said the suspect escaped with an undetermined am-ount of money, but did not appear to have a weapon.
The suspect was last seen running north across East Ash Street and might be wearing a fake beard.
Cpl. Claude Jackson took the initial report from a 35-year-old female clerk, who said the black male slid her a note with a demand for money.
The clerk reported that the man left out the north side front door, but could not provide a direction of travel for the officer.

Police had not made an arrest as of Saturday night, according to two police captains who said they had not been briefed fully on the matter.
There was also no record of an arrest for bank robbery filed in police records as of Saturday evening.
Bethea was not immediately available for comment late Saturday evening.
