Tickets available for Rebuilding Broken Places' annual event

The board of directors of Rebuilding Broken Places Community Development Corp. will hold its fifth annual Imani Celebration and Wall of First Induction Breakfast.
The event will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at Greenleaf Vision of Faith Community Center at 2105 N. William St.
This year's inductees include retiring state Sen. John Kerr and the Covenant Partners of Stop The Funeral Initiative.
Special speakers for the breakfast will include local citizens whose lives have been impacted by Rebuilding Broken Places CDC and their programs.
"Imani means faith and we celebrate faith with the persons who have become 1st time home buyers in Faith Estates and with the children and families involved in our preschool RBP Christian Academy and our afterschool programs, RBP Project Y.E.S.S. SOS," said John Barnes, CEO of Rebuilding Broken Places.
The Rev William J. Barber II, chairman of the board of directors for Rebuilding Broken Places and state president of NAACP, said "the work we do at RBP is meant to impact lives and raise the economic, educational and social levels of low to moderate income families in Goldsboro and Wayne County through effective use of partnerships with business, churches, public and community service agencies. The Wall of First Induction allows us to celebrate those who, with their service, impact our community on these same levels."
The event is free, but tickets are required. There are a limited number of tickets available to the public by calling 581-9178.
