The last time Laura Didier lived in Goldsboro, she spent most of her time handling "typical Air Force wife stuff" -- raising her children while her fighter pilot husband, Chris, focused on the 4th Fighter Wing's mission.
So the fact that she came back to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base a few months ago as an entertainer might come as a shock to those who knew her years ago.
"It's a real change from how they knew me before," she said.
Mrs. Didier and her accompanist, Jim Martinez, will be on the Paramount Theater stage Nov. 29, for what she describes as a "fun-filled night."
The show, a jazz concert featuring holiday favorites and jazz music from "A Charlie Brown Christmas," will run roughly two hours.
Tickets -- $15 for military members and other DOD cardholders and $20 for the general public -- can be purchased on Seymour Johnson in the Outdoor Recreation building, and off base at Frederick's Music on Ash Street and the Arts Council of Wayne County.
Mrs. Didier hopes to sell them all.
The show will be well worth it, she said.
"We've really got this show polished," Mrs. Didier said. "It's great fun. We really have a great time out there."
