County students sing

Haley Cannon of Eastern Wayne Elementary School sings a solo during Wayne County Public Schools' eighth annual Holiday Choral Showcase held at Dillard Middle School Tuesday. Other schools participating included Carver Heights, Meadow Lane, North Drive, School Street and Spring Creek elementary schools, Dillard, Eastern Wayne and Greenwood middle schools, Goldsboro Intermediate, and Eastern Wayne and Goldsboro high schools. In all, 24 county schools will take part in the choral event, which is divided into two performances. The second will be on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Dillard, with doors opening at 6:15 p.m. Admission is $5 per person, free to children 5 and younger. Proceeds benefit the county schools' choral program.
