Ready for the onslaught

U.S. Postal Service mail carrier Garnet Edwards prepares to load some packages into his mail truck at the main Goldsboro post office on William Street this morning. The postal service is expecting to deliver more than 20 million pounds of mail to U.S. service men and women this holiday season. Those planning to send packages to Iraq and Afghanistan should have them postmarked by Thursday, Dec. 4. Other holiday mail going abroad should be postmarked by Thursday, Dec. 11.
