MOC alumni weekend Nov.21-23

MOUNT OLIVE -- The annual Mount Olive College homecoming weekend, planned for Nov. 21-23, featuring a scholarship golf tournament, the annual Pickle Classic and other events for alumni.
The 12th annual golf tournament will be held that Friday, with sponsorships still available.
That evening, a baseball dinner will be held in Lois K. Murphy Regional Center honoring the Trojans' NCAA Division II national baseball championship team.
The baseball team will also be recognized during the 43rd annual Pickle Classic basketball series, held on Friday and Saturday, with the king and queen to be crowned on Saturday evening.
Other Saturday events include the Cystic Fibrosis 2K walk/5K run at 8:30 p.m., a pancake breakfast to benefit the MOC women's softball team from 7-10 a.m. and the alumni awards and reunion recognition at 10:30 a.m. in the Hennessee Room of the Lois K. Murphy Regional Center.
That afternoon a 50-inning softball game will be played at Nancy Chapman Cassell field at 12:30 p.m.
The ninth annual criminal justice seminar will be held at 1 p.m. in Southern Bank Auditorium, featuring Capt. Keri Walker, an MOC graduate and member of the Armed Forces Inaugural Committee, speaking on "An Airman's Journey."
Laughinghouse Hall will be open at 1 p.m. for a student art exhibit and reception. At 2 p.m., there will be a dedication of the Clingan locker room in Kornegay Arena.
This year there will be three inductees into the college's Hall of Fame. Ceremonies will take place at 2:30 p.m. in Lois K. Murphy Regional Center. The event is free and open to the public. RSVP by Nov. 13 to Tina Parks at 658-7759.
The college book store will also be open on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. The public is invited to tour the new buildings and prospective students are encouraged to visit the campus and meet with an admission representative in the Poole Administration building.
In downtown Mount Olive, an alumni tea is planned from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at "The Depot" and will include a trunk show and contest for the lady with the most creative hat.
Sunday's events include an alumni breakfast with the president at 9 a.m. followed by a memorial service at the alumni crosswalk at 10 and a worship service in Rodgers Chapel at 10:15.
