Wayne County residents can enjoy a glass of wine and help promote arts in their community this weekend.

In their 14th year of sponsoring the event, HealtHabit is partnering with The Paramount Theatre for its popular Benefit Tasting of Wines Saturday.

More than 90 wines will be available to sample including J.Lohr, Rodney Strong, Shannon Ridge, Bogle, Chateau St. Michelle, Parducci, McWillliams, Banfi, Matchbook and many more. This year, six distributors will donate and pour their newest releases with a special emphasis on unique and special wineries that are receiving excellent reviews in national publications.

And the event is not just for wine connoisseurs either. Beginning wine lovers are also welcome.

The benefit will be catered by Casey's Catering of Princeton with great appetizers such as baked brie, ham biscuits, fresh fruit, asparagus in pastry, roast beef, cheeses and desserts that will complement the wide variety of wines and champagnes being sampled at the event.

Silent auctions will feature 4 season passes to The Paramount's first Performing Arts Series valued at $240 as well as large format bottles from America, Italy, France and Australia.

There will also be opportunities to bid on vertical sets of rare wines, tickets to Biltmore Estates for tours and wine tasting and many collections of special selections of champagnes, Oregon pinot noirs and more.

This year, two art pieces will be offered, framed by Karen's Custom Framing, one of which is a special 1994 anniversary poster of Marilyn "Merlot."

All of the proceeds from ticket sales as well as from the silent auction items will benefit the Paramount Theatre.

The event will be held in its traditional location at the Herman Park Center, 901 E. Ash St., from 5 to 7 p.m.

Tickets are $35 if purchased before Nov. 15 and $40 the day of the event. A commemorative glass is included. Purchase your tickets at HealtHabit Natural Foods on Spence Avenue or at The Paramount Theatre in downtown Goldsboro.
