Johnston Veterans Day Parade Saturday in Princeton

PRINCETON -- The Princeton Veterans' Committee will hold the sixth annual Johnston County Veterans' Day Celebration and Parade on Saturday in Princeton.
Events begin at 10 a.m. with food, antique tractors and craft vendors, with the parade at 1 p.m.
The grand marshal will be U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Donald Martin and his wife, Maydeen Oliver Martin. Martin served in WWII, the Korean War and Vietnam.
After the parade at 2:30 p.m., Col. Randy Hinton, a Johnston County native and Princeton High School graduate, will speak.
Entertainment will include the Atkinson Family Singers, soloist Nicole Chestnut, the Princeton Celebration Choir, and the rock band "Ogre."
Military memorabilia will be on display at the Princeton Community Building. Veterans interested in displaying their memorabilia should bring it to 106 N. Center St. on Thursday from 1-4 p.m. To take part in the parade, call 965-2574. Vendors should call 965-5661.
