Rape reported

A Dudley woman reported that her housemate had been raped by a 50-year-old man she knows. Detectives have been assigned to the case and investigation continues, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office report.

Horse shot

Melissa Shaw of Goldsboro reported Tuesday evening that a horse had been shot with a small caliber firearm, a Wayne County Sheriff's Office report shows. A veterinarian who examined the horse said it appeared to have happened about one week earlier, and the deputy estimated damages, presumably veterinarian bills, at $2,000, according to the report.

Home shot 30 times

Charles McCullen of Mill Creek Road, Princeton reported $2,000 in damages to his home on Tuesday afternoon after a suspect shot the residence about 30 times, according to a Wayne County Sheriff's Office report. About $1,000 worth of copper piping also was stolen, the report shows. The Sheriff's Office is investigating a suspect, according to the report.
