The Downtown Goldsboro Development Corp. is inviting children and their parents to enjoy lots of fun downtown again this year with Boo It -- a Halloween celebration with games and candy -- starting at 4 p.m. Friday at Cornerstone Commons on the corner of South Center and Chestnut streets.

Children will enjoy all of the activities -- a cupcake walk, stage entertainment with clowns, creepy games with prizes, face painting, hayride, costume contest, carved pumpkin contest, apple bobbing, arts and crafts station and pet costume contest.

Then, the children will begin the great candy walk downtown and trick-or-treat to all the participating merchants from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Fifty downtown merchants will participate in trick-or-treating. The DGDC will have an info station at Cornerstone Commons and will provide free bags and the participating trick-or-treat business list.

Sunrise Kiwanis Club and the Wayne County Partnership for Children will also be at the event.

The News-Argus will be handing out candy at the event. Come and get your picture taken in your Halloween costume and be a part of our online photo gallery.
