Goldsboro police are still looking for suspects responsible for a series of car break-ins, taking place mostly within the city limits of Goldsboro.
Police say the rash of break-ins started in September, when thieves broke into eight vehicles in the "Pill Hill" area Sept. 14-15, then five more on Sept. 26 and 27.
On Oct. 2 and 3, 10 motor vehicle break-ins were reported in the Bayleaf Subdivision.
Then, a week later, thieves hit the Peele Acres subdivision, breaking into 11 cars.
Eight more vehicles were broken into the next night in the Forest Hills area off Cuyler Best Road, police said.
Finally, on Oct. 22 and 23, nine vehicles were burglarized and one was stolen in the Mimosa Park area, police said.
Investigators are asking people to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 735-2255 if they see any suspicious activity in their neighborhood.
Police also gave some tips on how to keep your vehicle safe from thieves.
*Lock your car or truck. Remove valuables whenever you can, and put them out of sight when you cannot. A locked trunk is a good place for valuables when you cannot take them out of the vehicle.
*Roll up your windows, and make sure your trunk is locked.
*Don't leave the keys in your vehicle.
