Work First 2010-2011 plan now available for review

Work First is North Carolina's program to administer the federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families block grant. A local planning committee including representatives from local government, public and private organizations, and citizens designed the attached plan to administer Work First in Wayne County for the 2010-2011 biennium.
This draft plan has been approved by the Wayne County Work First Planning Committee and the Board of Social Services, and is now available for public review and comment prior to its submission to the Wayne County Board of Commissioners later this month. Following approval by the Commissioners, the plan must be submitted to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services by Oct. 31.
Copies are currently available at the Chamber of Commerce in Goldsboro, all public libraries in Wayne County, the Wayne County Department of Social Services, the County Manager's Office, the Employment Security Commission and the Goldsboro Housing Authority. Written comments on the draft plan will be accepted through Oct. 7.
