Two candidate events set for Monday, Tuesday

Wayne County residents will have two opportunities next week to see and hear from state and local candidates.
The first will be Monday night when the Black Business Owners Professionals and Entrepreneurs, the Goldsboro Wayne NAACP and St. James AME Zion Church Social/PAC hold their 2008 Political Forum at 6:30 p.m.
It will be held at 206 S. George St., the corner of George and Spruce Streets. Nearly 30 candidates are expected attend.

Then on Tuesday, the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce will hold a "Meet the Candidates" event from 7 until 9 p.m. at the Arts Council of Wayne County at 2406 E. Ash St.
Candidates and office holders for the state Senate, state House, county Board of Commissioners, Board of Education and judicial candidates have been invited to attend.
All office holders in attendance will be recognized. Candidates in a contested race will be allowed to speak for two minutes to introduce themselves and what they are running for. After the introductions there will be time for the audience to mingle with the candidates and ask questions.
