Two dead in fatal wreck

KINSTON -- Two people were killed Monday in an accident involving two vehicles on U.S. 70 west of Kinston.
Thomas Caverly, 55, and Debra Caverly, 51, of Cedar Dell Lane, Kinston, died at the scene.
The driver of the second car, Ashley Schaub, 19, of Tyree Road, Kinston, was listed in stable condition at Lenoir Memorial Hospital.
The state Highway Patrol said Schaub was traveling east on U.S. 70 near Kennedy Home Road when her vehicle struck a car driven by Thomas Caverly, who had entered the four-lane highway, either to turn westward or cross over.
Schaub was not charged but troopers said the investigation is continuing.
