Section of I-40 near Faison closes

Interstate 40 West at Exit 355 (N.C. 403 just west of Faison) will be closed from 11 p.m. today until 5 a.m. Wednesday and again from 11 p.m. Wednesday, until 5 a.m. Thursday for bridge repairs The closures are necessary to perform repairs where a truck hit the bridge span in June.
Motorists traveling on I-40 West are being detoured onto the exit ramp and then continuing on to I-40 West.
The N.C. State Highway Patrol will direct N.C. 403 traffic.
Motorists are urged to stay alert and to use alternate routes when possible during this period, drive with caution, obey the posted speed limits and allow for extra travel time.
