Man dies in ATV accident at Busco Beach

A man died at Busco Beach Saturday after being ejected from his all-terrain vehicle.
Capt. Tom Effler with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said according to the report, Allen Burnette, 54, of Bailey, died in an ATV accident Saturday evening after emergency officials were called to the scene about 6:45 p.m.
Based on the report, Effler explained Burnette had been riding a "bowl berm" -- what he defined as a deep hole in the earth -- when he lost control of his vehicle as he came up over the top edge.
"He rolled the ATV over and was ejected," Effler said. "He was transported to Wayne Memorial Hospital where he died of his injuries."
There was no information on the type of injuries, if Burnette was wearing a helmet or if alcohol was involved.
