The Goldsboro-Wayne County Drug Squad and a Sheriff's Office team that specializes in stopping drug trafficking recently seized about a kilo of cocaine.
One seizure was at a home on Slick Rock Road, off of N.C. 111 just north of Cliffs of the Neuse State Park.
In that raid, three men were arrested, including the homeowner, Juan Acosta Vasquez, 30, according to a release.
The other two men, Reynoldo Garcia Vasquez, 28, and Vasquez Israel Garcio, 22, were charged with trafficking cocaine by possession and conspiracy to traffic cocaine, authorities said.
Vasquez also was charged with maintaining a dwelling for cocaine.
All three men were jailed under $1 million bonds, Aggressive Criminal Enforce-ment team member Jerry Maxwell said.
Two additional arrests came as a result of a traffic stop, on U.S. 70 East, east of Goldsboro, in which two men from Virginia are accused of hauling a large amount of cocaine, authorities said.
In that stop, Hector Ramos Avellaneda, 23, Buckminster Lane, Virginia Beach, Va., and Antione Lambert, 24, Cleaton Road, Brodnax, Va., were found with the illicit, highly dangerous stimulant drug.
Both men were charged with one count each of trafficking cocaine by transportation and possession, while Avellaneda, the owner of the vehicle, also was charged with maintaining a vehicle for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.
Avellaneda was jailed under an $800,000 bond, while Lambert was placed under a $750,000 bond.
