Kaye Scott takes over as finance director for city

The city named a new finance director Tuesday morning, as acting director Kaye Scott was promoted to the top position.
Ms. Scott has been with the city since 1979, where she started in the Parks and Recreation Department. She said she moved from that department to the Finance Department about 20 years ago.
She started in the department with payroll, moved to accounts payable, accounts receivable and budgeting, and was then promoted to assistant director of finance.
Ms. Scott said she is "excited" and "ready for the challenge."
"And you won't notice any changes to the department," she said. "Like I told the staff today, it will be business as usual."
She took over as acting finance director after former Finance Director Richard Durham left July 31.
