Sickle Cell Drive to be held Saturday

The Epicurean Civic Club will hold its annual Sickle Cell Drive on Saturday at Berkeley Mall, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Organizers said they hope to raise $10,000 for the fight against the disease.
The event will be broadcast by Channel 10 TV and WSSG-AM.
Entertainment will be provided by Miss Goldsboro Lisa Mace, the Goldsboro Ballet, the Interpretation Dancers, the Fabulous Three, the Supreme Voices of Carolina, the Set Apart Gospel Singers and Goldsboro Outstanding Teen Edie Hooks.
Donation containers are located at businesses around the city and county and several civic groups will be soliciting donations as well. Pledges will be accepted through Sept. 30.
