Police are releasing few details about the homicide of Alroujan Sentele Smith last Thursday, as they work in partnership with the State Bureau of Investigation.

SBI officials would not comment on the investigation.

Smith, 22, of Lemon Street was found shot to death at 2011 Hawthorne St., investigators say.

"There's not really much else we can say at this point except that we're seeking the public's help," Sgt. Chad Calloway said. "The investigation is ongoing with both the Goldsboro Police Department and the SBI."

Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator Doug Bethea at 580-5214, or the Crime Stoppers hotline at 735-2255.

According to police records, this was not the first time Smith suffered a gunshot wound.

In 2004, Smith told police that a man he did not know shot him in the 900 block of Carver Drive, shattering nearby windows in an apartment.

The shooting occurred during a nine-day stretch in which six people were shot in the city, police records show.
