Man found shot to death in Goldsboro

A 22-year-old man was found shot to death shortly after 9 p.m. on Hawthorne Street on Thursday night.
Goldsboro Police Department investigators were called to the scene after gunshots were reported.

Crime scene tape surrounds the residence at 2011 Hawthorne Street in Goldsboro on this morning. Goldsboro police were dispatched to the residence on a shots fired call Thursday.
The body of Alroujan Sentale Smith of 1104 Lemon Street was discovered by patrol Officer Melissa Whitaker.
It was reported as a homicide.
Police investigators were working on the case this morning and said they would release more information as soon as more details were uncovered.
They would not say how many times the victim had been shot nor what type of weapon may have been used.
The shooting occurred at a small brick house at the corner of Randolph and Hawthorne streets. Early today, the scene was roped off with crime tape and a police car was parked nearby.
