Near theft

At Goldsboro Power Sports on N.C. 13 North Sunday night around 10 p.m., a witness reported five black males near a fenced area. The subjects fled when the witness turned on vehicle lights. Wayne County Sheriff's deputies found bolt cutters lying near the fence, as well as a four-wheeler and dirt bike. They questioned a 23-year-old man walking in the area, and also discovered four youths in the area, who claimed they were looking for a lost cell phone.

Successful thefts

*On the 200 block of Little Dove Road, Pikeville Sunday afternoon, Donja Gibson reported the theft of a $1,370 laptop, $700 thinkpad and several prescription bottles from her residence. A bedroom window had been broken to gain access.

*Angela Brown of Foxcroft Drive reported the theft of a 1996 four-door Acura Legend from her residence. She told deputies her son heard a noise outside and they saw someone driving away with the car, valued at $7,000.

*David Stafford, a resident on Massey Road, Dudley, reportedly arrived home Sunday around noon and discovered two shotguns and approximately $900 in currency and change had been taken.

Copper thefts

*On the 900 block of Emmaus Church Road, a breaking and entering was reported at as residence by William Newkirk of U.S. 117, Dudley. An estimated $4,000 worth of copper wiring leading to an air conditioning unit was taken.

*Phyllis Tyndall Williamson, Country Lake Drive, Dudley reported an air conditioning unit was damaged and a section of copper tubing was taken from a residence on Sleepy Creek Drive.

*Douglas Wiggins of CJR Lewis Dairy Road reported a break-in to a barn and the theft of copper wire and aluminum wire.

*Thunder Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church in Mount Olive reported the theft of an air conditioning unit from the church on Saturday.

Goldsboro police are investigating a report of a break-in to three vacant homes under construction on Sunset Drive, according to a complaint filed by Bobby Stone of Stone Construction. Damages were reported to a window as well as the theft of copper wire line to an air conditioning unit worth $6,000, $15,000 worth of electrical wiring and a $50 drop cord.

These people have been charged by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office:

*Lemel Shamont Jones, 20, Georgia Farm Drive, driving while license revoked, speeding, careless and reckless, $2,500 bond.

*Kenneth Lee Humphrey, 30, Henderson, N.C., shoplifting, $1,000 bond.

*Markiesha Kamah Allen, 33, Tindale Place, domestic assault, inflicting injury, $1,000 bond.

*Rodney Vincent Hamilton, 44, Scott Drive, Dudley, second-degree trespassing, injury to personal property, $1,000 bond.

*Cordale Sherrod, 29, Lockmere Circle, Dudley, driving while license revoked, $1,000 bond.

*Martin Jesus Zamora, 24, Swinson Drive, driving while license revoked, no bond.

*Jacob Matthew Roberts, 16, Autumn Winds Drive, damage to property, no bond.

These people have been charged by the Goldsboro Police Department:

*Maro Javon Kornegay, 24, Virginia Street, breaking and entering, assault of female, resisting public officer, simple possession Schedule VI, driving while license revoked, $16,000 bond.

*Lawrence Kenneth Roberts, 34, Wayne Memorial Drive, possession of firearm by felon, $15,000 bond.

*Alison Joy Taylor, 26, Palmer Street, LaGrange, possession of stolen firearm, carrying concealed weapon, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, $10,000 bond.

*Lorenzo Darnell Williams, 24, Green Drive, assault on female, communicating threats, harassing calls, $1,200 bond.

*Ronnie Wooten, 42, John Street, assault with a deadly weapon, communicating threats, $1,000 bond.

*Pablo Sanchez, 24, Sandstone Drive, no operator's license, $240 bond.

*Nicole Reid, 24, N. Jackson Street, damage to property, no bond.
