City's 'most wanted' criminal caught

A Goldsboro man wanted for attempted murder has been arrested in Richmond, Va.
Ichshon Zaquan Jones, 25, of Courtyard Circle, was listed as the 'most wanted' suspect by the Goldsboro Police Department in a story published in the News-Argus last Thursday.
He was arrested that night by Richmond police but Goldsboro investigator Cpl. Dave Cloutier said he could not point to the newspaper's story on the Top Ten most wanted people in the city as the reason for Jones' arrest.
Jones was in the vicinity of a robbery in Richmond and was picked up by Richmond police, to whom he gave a false identification, Cloutier said.
"He either was in an area where a robbery was being committed or trying to commit a robbery himself," Cloutier said.
Jones is being held by Richmond authorities, awaiting extradition to North Carolina. He faces charges of giving false identification there.
Jones has been wanted by Goldsboro police since March 20, when he became a suspect in a shooting on the 500 block of Elm Street in which an occupied vehicle was fired into.
Another suspect, Geneva Delores Phillips, 20, was also charged in connection with the shooting but Jones had evaded law officers until Thursday night.
He faces charges of attempted first-degree murder, three counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, possession with intent to sell cocaine and marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for the use of controlled drugs, possession of a stolen firearm and failure to appear in court.
In listing the most wanted suspects, Goldsboro police did not rank any of the top 10 in any particular order, except to make Jones No. 1.
