Knife attack

Frederick Jones of Wayne Avenue told Goldsboro police he was cut on the left side of his nose and face while walking on Olivia Lane early Saturday morning, according to a report. Jones suffered severe lacerations in the attack, police said. The
suspect is described as a black male wearing a white tank top, 5-feet 8-inches tall, age 20 to 25, with an average build and very short black hair. Call Crimestoppers at 735-2255 with information.

Board assault

Crystal Toler, 19, of West Gratham Street reported that her boyfriend hit her in the face Sunday afternoon with a 2-inch by 4-inch piece of lumber, causing minor injury, according to a Wayne County Sheriff's Office report. The incident occurred at the boyfriend's Old Smithfield Highway home in Princeton, the report states.

Correction -- this report incorrectly said Crystal Toler of West Grantham Street had been struck in the face. She was hit on the knee with a two-by-four by her assailant. The story also said the injury was minor but physicians have said it is more serious that first believed.

*Yvonne Edwards of Whitfield Drive reported someone opened an unlocked window at her home and stole about $700 in valuables, Goldsboro police said.

*Kenneth McCullen of McCullen's Automotive on Bartlett Road in Pikeville reported Sunday that 20 automobile radiators and 10 air conditioner condensers worth a total $800 stolen from behind his shop, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said.
