Wayne County Grand Jury returns indictments in local cases

Three city men accused of fatally shooting a Fayetteville 22-year-old on Olivia Lane were indicted this month.
Goldsboro police investigators confirmed that Eric Donta Covington, Deon Jerrell McLean and Everette McLean were all implicated in the murder of Antron Demon Hines, 22.
Police and court records show that a spate of gun violence between two pairs of brothers and their friends may have spurred the shooting.
Antron Hines' brother, Jaquan Hines, had been injured in a shootout hours before the June 2007 murder, described as an "OK-corral style" by investigators.
Investigators said the murder victim's brother Jaquan Hines, 17, and Shawntana Thompson, 18, were peppered with birdshot in a shootout at Express Food Mart, at the corner of Slocumb and Elm streets.
Hines and Ms. Thompson suffered minor injuries, investigators said.
Just hours later, Hines was found with mortal gunshot wounds in the 800 block of Olivia Lane, police reported at the time of the shooting.
Hines was transported to Wayne Memorial Hospital, but was dead on arrival, police said.
Investigators Doug Bethea, Barbara Lewis and Dwayne Bevell were involved with the case and may be called to testify in an eventual trial.
Records show that the shooting victim himself, Antron Demon Hines, also had an alleged violent history.
When Hines was killed, he was out on bond for the alleged shooting of Robert Lee Mitchell II, 22, of Kornegay Street.
Mitchell was headed north in the 500 block of Slocumb Street when Hines stood in the street and shot him in the face, police said at the time.
Mitchell had also reported that Hines robbed him at Express Food Mart, the same store where the shootout occurred on Dec. 23.
The arrests in Hines' death in June 2007 came sequentially as police investigators developed their case.
The McLeans, who are brothers, were the first two arrests in Hines' murder, police said.
Covington was later implicated and arrested, according to investigators.
The Wayne County Grand Jury's July indictments included:

*Auston Robert Hobbs, 16, Johnson Lane, breaking and entering, larceny after break or enter, possess stolen goods, obtain property by false pretense.
*Christopher Gerald Ward, 20, East Walnut Street, receive stolen goods, possess stolen goods, obtain property by false pretense.
*Mark Ryan Paul, 36, breaking and entering, larceny after break or enter, possess stolen goods.
*Kimberly Daly Dawson, 35, East Ash Street, possess stolen goods.
*Javier Colunga, 17, Antonio Lane, possess with intent to sell or deliver a controlled drug, two counts misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon.
*Tramarcus Lashawn Sasser, 32, habitual felon, breaking and entering, larceny after break or enter, possess stolen goods, possess drug paraphernalia, possess marijuana, injure property, four counts resisting police, assault a police officer.
*William Roger Cockrell, date of birth not listed, Exum Road, possess a controlled drug.
*Charlene Holland Wellington, 39, Clingman Street, possess a controlled drug, possess drug paraphernalia.
*Chester Lawrence Aycock, 20, Columbia Avenue, embezzlement, larceny by employee.
*Michael Leroy Evans, 43, Leslie Street, possess a controlled drug.
*Clarence Daniel Davis, 30, Rockerfeller Court, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, communicating threats.

*Kathryn Wanell Peoples, 57, Kingston Circle, possess a controlled drug.
*Danny Lamont Yelverton, age and address not listed, possess stolen goods.
*Kinena Yevette Brown, 31, Merlin Lane, habitual felon, breaking and entering, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
*Tyesha Simona Woodard, 24, Edgerton Street, possess with intent to sell or deliver a controlled drug, no operator's license.
*Antonio Demarco Davis, 20, Dogwood Lane, possess with intent to sell or deliver a controlled drug, manufacture a controlled drug.
*Chavon Herbert Sutton, 17, McDonald Drive, Mount Olive, possess with intent to sell or deliver a controlled drug, manufacture a controlled drug.
*Tristin Ryan Suncin, 18, South Church Street, Mount Olive, possess with intent to sell or deliver a controlled drug, manufacture a controlled drug.
*Jamez Tyquan Herniques, 27, Old Smithfield Road, breaking and entering, larceny after break or enter, possess stolen goods.
*Monterio Ravon Worrells, 18, East Elm Street, possess with intent to sell or deliver a controlled drug.
*Ricky O'Neal Williams, 46, Radford Road, possess a controlled drug.
