Recipients imclude Brogden Primary, Charles B. Aycock High, Fremont STARS Elementary, Goldsboro High, Grantham School, Rosewood Elementary, and Southern Wayne High. Each school library will receive a teacher's resource book, as well as 20 reversible posters featuring work from painters like Mary Cassatt and Thomas Hart Benton; photographers such as Walker Evans and Dorothea Lange; and architects like Frank Lloyd Wright.
"We are very excited to receive these additions to our media centers," states Olivia Pierce, executive director for media, technology, and community relations. "We hope that these images not only help educate students on our nation's rich history, but inspire them to take advantage of the many resources found in our media centers to learn more."
