Base fence jumped

Goldsboro police said Davin Jae McCarty, 19, of Nellis Drive, was charged with first-degree trespassing for jumping a Seymour Johnson Air Force Base fence behind houses on Scriven Road on July 4 around 7 p.m. Base police tracked down a suspect matching the description they received and caught McCarty in the 300 block of Allen Street, Goldsboro police said. McCart also had marijuana, police said.

Door kicked open, BBs fired

A Goldsboro police officer was on patrol when he spotted a red fire extinguisher laying in the yard of Betty Suggs of East Walnut Street late on Sunday, Goldsboro police said. Ms. Suggs reported that someone she did not know kicked open her front door and fired a gas-powered BB gun into her front glass window, causing a total $350 in damages, police said. Further description of the suspect was not available. Police said they had taken a recent report of Ms. Suggs' home being shot with a BB gun.

Juveniles fired BBs into store

A Goldsboro police officer saw two juveniles standing outside Family Dollar on South George Street and thought they were trying to break in, a report shows. The officer tried to confront them, they fled, and he apprehended them a few block away, police said. When the officer checked the store, he found five front windows shot with BB pellets. The officer found the BB gun on an air conditioner behind the store and the juveniles were charged with injuring personal and real property, police said.

Underwear bleached

Kenneth Barnes of East New Hope Road reported someone entered his residence and poured bleach on his fiancee Rebecca Bryant's panties, police said. Police documented $500 in damage to 50 pairs of women's underwear. Some other sort of liquid also was poured on the bedding and clothing, police said. Authorities reported they could not find any signs of forced entry.

Thefts

Quick's on West Grantham Street reported a hydraulic pump, four 10-foot light poles and four light assemblies worth about $5,000 stolen from the business, Goldsboro police said.

*Eve Harris of Whitfield Drive reported a broken window and assorted jewelry stolen from her home over the weekend, police said.

*Shanell Mae of Alpha Court reorted that her 1987 Chevrolet Caprice was broken into and her CD player worth $200 stolen.

*Terence Spruill and Derek Thomas of McLain Street reported their home broken into and $760 in stolen goods.

Larceny arrests

Michael Steven Nelms, 28, and Darien Leon Blakenship, 38, were arrested Monday on charges of breaking and entering and larceny. They were jailed under a $10,000 bond. The arrests were the result of a report of a breaking and entering of a residence on the 3000 block of Stevens Mill Road Sunday evening. The investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office revealed $16,000 in damages and missing items. Blakenship also was charged with a concealed weapons charge after a loaded 9mm pistol also was found.
