Several area residents part of JCC Country Music Showcase

Several area residents are part of the Johnston Community College Country Music Showcase, which opens at 7 p.m. Friday on the Smithfield campus. Shows are also scheduled for Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
The father-daughter duo of Daniel and Samantha Casey, known for traditional bluegrass, gospel and fiddle tunes, are among the featured performers.
Hannah Edwards of Goldsboro, a soloist and member of the Potter's Clay Ministries, will perform "Nothin' New Under the Moon," made popular by LeAnn Rimes.
The show will be emceed by Debbie Elam of Four Oaks. Musical accompaniment will be provided by The Showcase Band, featuring Melanie Horton of Goldsboro, Ken Eubanks of Princeton, Chris Flynn of Greenville, Hugh Jackson of Dunn, Grover Hood of Goldsboro, and Brent Shattuck of LaGrange. Back-up vocalists are Yvonne Wheeler, Sandy Millard, and Chris Raynor, all of Smithfield. Rounding out the cast is dancer Heather McLamb of Benson.
Individual show tickets bought in advance are $10 for evening performances and $8 for the Saturday matinee. At the door, tickets are $12 for evening shows and $10 for matinees. Or call the box office at (919) 209-2099 from 1:30 to 5 p.m.
