Crimes

The Goldsboro Police Department has reported the following crimes:

*Somebody cut the fence to the A&T Towing and Recovery storage facility at 4189 U.S. 70 East and broke the rear passenger window out of a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe before stealing all the wheels and tires valued at $3,500. Damage to the fence was $380. The business was last secured at 7 p.m. on Thursday. The break-in was discovered Friday morning.

*Thieves broke into the home of Lelia Bethea on Vanderbilt Circle some time between 9 and 10:15 a.m. Friday and took three handguns, all valued at $1,250. Ms. Bethea said she came home and noticed her kitchen window open and then the antique pistols missing from under her bed. The report said the thieves appeared to have left through the front door.

*A break-in at the home of Hanna E. Brown on Judy Place netted thieves two laptops and two cell phones, all valued at $3,885. About $120 worth of damage was done to the rear window to gain entry.

Fire set

Goldsboro police said somebody started a fire in the attic at a vacant house on West Oak Street Friday afternoon. The report said the unsecured house, owned by Carletha Faison of Cleveland, Ohio, was valued at $5,000.
