The Wayne County Senior Center, 100 S. John St., is now offering a new form of recreation and exercise for its members -- a Wii.
The Wii, a video game console by Nintendo, has become popular in many hospitals and rehab centers as an exercise tool. The system, which has motion-sensitive controllers and requires body movements similar to traditional therapy and exercises, features classic games like bowling, golf and tennis -- all performed in the comfort of air-conditioning.
The senior center is offering it in an attempt to help people improve their overall health.
For more information on how to join the senior center and take advantage of this new device, call Nancy Gendreau at 731-1608.
