Victim found beaten on sidewalk
Goldsboro police say Alex McDuffie, 46, of Level Street was reportedly lying on the sidewalk late Tuesday. McDuffie could not communicate with the officer. Police reported major injuries to McDuffie, apparently from an attack with a blunt object. The victim was initially transported to Wayne Memorial Hospital but later transferred to Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greene County for further treatment on Wednesday, police said.
Damage at armory
Alex Turlington of the N.C. National Guard Armory on U.S. 117 South reported that someone had done $1,000 in damages to bathroom stall walls with an unknown object, according to a Goldsboro police report.
