Goldsboro has extended hours of operation for the outdoor pools at Mina Weil and Peacock parks to accommodate working parents who wish to take their children to the pool during evening and weekend hours, as well as give teenagers opportunities to swim at the pool.
The pools will be open until September 1 from noon to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
The city also is offering summer pool passes for city residents who are non-Family Y members. The passes cost only $25 for youth up to ages 18, and $35 for adults over 18. If city residents receive free or reduced lunch, they can receive reduced fees on passes. Passes can be used at both Mina Weil and Peacock pools. Passes can be purchased at the Parks and Recreation Department's main office during normal business hours.
