The owner of Club 55 El Abuelo pleaded no contest to violation of a Lenoir County noise ordinance on Thursday, a court official there said.
Randy Mills, of Mills Road in the Grantham area, received a 15-day sentence suspended for 60 months under the condition that the club obey all laws of a noise ordinance, according to court records.
Mills also received a $500 fine after pleading no contest and being found guilty of violating the noise ordinance, court records show.
Neighbors of the Seven Springs establishment are also still waiting on the decision of an administrative law judge considering a permit to sell beer at the club.
The N.C. Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission denied a permit to the club after looking at the effect the right to sell beer may have on neighbors, ABC Commission attorney Renee Cowick said.
Residents worry of increased noise and trash near the club, a 15,000-square foot establishment just west of the Wayne-Lenoir County line.
