Law enforcement officers memorial Wednesday at WCC

The 2008 Wayne County Law Enforcement Memorial Service will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Wayne County Emergency Services Memorial on the campus of Wayne Community College.
Representatives of Wayne County's nine fallen officers' departments will speak and the ceremony will include posting of colors by a mixed honor guard, a rifle salute, "Taps" and wreath-laying, followed by a reception. The public is invited to join the officers' families, current law enforcement officers and elected officials of Wayne County at the ceremony.
This event, hosted by Wayne County Sheriff's Office, Goldsboro Police Department and Wayne Community College, leads into Law Enforcement Officers Week in North Carolina and National Police Week May 11-17.
