Tobacco store robbed
Tobacco World at 523 E. Ash St. reported an armed robbery Thursday morning. The clerk told Goldsboro police a man entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the register. The report said the thief left the store on foot heading east on Ash Street with $845 in cash from the store.
Crimes
*Robert Earl Gonyier reported a break-in at his home on South Madison Avenue. Gonyier told police he returned home from work Thursday afternoon to find the window to his back door broken. Damage was about $100. Gonyier said he discovered items missing, including a $2,000 44-inch LCD television and an $80 hammer drill.
*Roger Wade Houston Jr. told police he discovered somebody had kicked in the back door to his home on Patetown Road. Houston said a $50 safe containing $2,000 and important papers was taken.
