The Wayne County Services on Aging will hold a volunteer appreciation reception on Saturday at Wilber's Barbecue at 2:30 p.m.

Senior Center Director Eryn McAuliffe says the agency has 50 volunteers altogether, and she expects about 25 to attend.

"Wayne County Services on Aging is very lucky to have the support of dedicated, caring volunteers who keep the programs running," she said.

The volunteers do things like help in the respite care program, at the nutrition site and in the senior center itself with insurance counseling and much more.

"Without them, the programs would have to be cut," she said.

During the luncheon, each volunteer will receive a certificate of appreciation and a small gift.

The senior center and nutrition site are located at 100 S. John St.

The center offers meals and other recreation and welness activities. For more information or to volunteer, call 731-1591.
