Jaycees seeking award nominations

The Goldsboro Jaycees are looking for a few good citizens.
The Distinguished Service Awards are coming up, and nominations are currently being accepted for outstanding citizens in seven categories.
The Outstanding Senior Citizen Award recognizes people over the age of 60 who have shown exceptional leadership during their life.
The Outstanding Boss of the Year Award is presented to a Jaycee employer who has served his/her family, church, community, nation and the Jaycee organization well.
The Outstanding Teenager Award recognizes a senior in high school who has a grade point average of at least 3.0 and a well-rounded resume in scholarship, leadership and community service.
The Outstanding Educator Award is presented to a professional educator who is between the ages of 21 and 40 as of Jan. 1, 2008.
The Outstanding Public Servant must serve as a correctional officer, firefighter, law enforcement officer or rescuer and have achieved success in their profession with leadership as well as being an active member of the community.
The Outstanding North Carolinian should be between 21 and 40 as of Jan. 1 and have demonstrated excellent leadership .
Applications for nominees may be picked up at the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce at 308 N. William St. The deadline for applications is April 15. Applications may also be mailed to the Goldsboro Jaycees at P.O. Box 463, Goldsboro, NC, 27533. For more information, call Tracy McEver at 658-5902.
