Fire starter charged
A Park Ridge Road woman tried to burn down the house she shared with her boyfriend when he asked her to leave, authorities said Monday. The Wayne County Sheriff's charged Britney Latrice Baker, 19, with felonious burning of a dwelling for the March 22 incident, Capt. Tom Effler said. During a domestic dispute, Ms. Baker allegedly set the home on fire, the captain said. Ms. Baker also is charged with assaulting a police officer for her actions after authorities responded to the home, Effler said.
Man shot
Quontavius Broadhurst, 19, of Cheryl Drive, Dudley, told Goldsboro police that he was shot in the right calf while walking in between apartments in the 100 block of Astor Court toward Vanderbilt Circle. Broadhurst was treated at Wayne Memorial Hospital. The suspect is described as a "large black male" who drove a white two-door passenger vehicle, police said.
