Republican convention Saturday

The Wayne County Republican Party will hold precinct meetings and the Wayne County GOP Convention on Saturday at the Wayne Center on the corner of Chestnut and George Street.
Registration starts at 8 a.m., precinct meetings start at 8:30 and the convention will start at 9:30.
Delegates will be elected for the county, districts 1 and 3 and the state convention.
There is no cost to attend the convention and all GOP members are invited. Coffee, doughnuts and hot chocolate will be served.
County commissioner candidates Joe Daughtery, Frank Pearsall, Steve Keen, Ray Starling, Hal Keck, Jeff Jennings and James Beckwith will address the convention, along with state House candidates Efton Sager and Stephen LaRoque, state Senate candidates Louis Pate and David Rouzer. Lieutenant governor candidate Greg Dority will attend, as well as 3rd Congressional District Candidate Joe McLaughlin and Wayne Sheriff Carey Winders.
Rep. Pate will be the keynote speaker.
