Threats cause concern at local schools

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is investigating a note that contained death threats found at Rosewood High School on Tuesday morning, authorities and school officials say.
A sheriff's office official said a list of students "who were going to die today (Tuesday)" was found somewhere at the high school.
Wayne County School District spokesman Ken Derksen said he could confirm that a threatening note had been found, but could not offer details such as how many students were on the list or why such a threat would be made.
"(The note) ... is still under investigation," Derksen said.
He added that the school district is taking precautions.
"We did have an increased presence of law enforcement there today," he said Tuesday afternoon.
The spokesman said a note was scheduled to be sent home to parents Tuesday afternoon informing them of the incident.
Derksen said that any student found guilty of threatening the lives of other students would face school discipline and "be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."
"This is something that the school system takes definitely very seriously, and any students involved in it will face not only disciplinary measures" but also the police and court system, Derksen said.
"We want to make sure our students are safe," he said.
Also, Southern Wayne High School was evacuated for around 45 minutes on Tuesday morning after a bomb threat was reported, school officials confirmed.
Wayne County Sheriff's Office deputies searched the premises and found no threat of explosives, authorities said.
