A traffic stop led to the arrest of a Seven Springs-area man accused of sexually victimizing young girls, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said.
Jimmy Ray McArthur, 19, Pineview Cemetery Road, was arrested in a traffic stop after calls from citizens who had seen McArthur in news coverage, Sheriff Carey Winders said.
The 19-year-old faces two counts of indecent liberties with a minor and is jailed under $100,000 bond, Capt. Tom Effler said.
McArthur is accusd of targeting a 12-year-old girl in January 2008, Effler said.
The captain said McArthur was "actually a predator" who infiltrated groups of young girls and lied about his age in order to gain the trust of his victim.
Under staet law a person is guilty of indecent liberties with a child if he or she targets a victim under age 16 for the purpose of arousing or gratifying sexual desire.
The offender must be at least five years older than the victim to be guilty of indecent liberties, according to state law.
Indecent liberties with a child is a Class F felony punishable by a minimum of 13 months in jail for most cases, according to state law.
