Goldsboro police are seeking the public's help in locating a Goldsboro 17-year-old and anyone else suspected of taking part in a Jan. 15 diversion fire at a local Wal-Mart.
Goldsboro Investigator Doug Bethea obtained a felony-level warrant Wednesday for burning of personal property again-st Fiante Semaj Amerson, 17, Sgt. Chad Calloway said.
Amerson and a juvenile are accused of setting a fire that caused $300,000 in property and structure damage to Wal-Mart, much of it attributed to an automatic sprinkler system.
Fire Chief Alvin Ward said the sprinklers probably saved the North Spence Avenue building, however.
Attempts to locate and arrest Amerson were unsuccesful on Wednesday, police said.
Earlier, a juvenile was charged with a felony-level count of burning personal property in the incident.
Police say the two arrests do not close the investigation, and more suspects are sought.
Anyone with information on other suspects is asked to call Investigator Doug Bethea at 580-4214 or Crimestoppers at 735-2255.
