Knife attack

A Brazil Street man said he suffered minor injuries after a man he is acquainted with cut his arm with a knife while lying in bed, Goldsboro police say. Reford Bell reported the acquaintance was angry over a $5 debt, police said.

Crime of the week

A home invasion in the 1700 block of East Beech Street is the focus of the Goldsboro Police Department's crime of the week. A 54-year-old man reported being hog tied after being approached by a black male. Coins and a 12-gauge shotgun were stolen by the suspect, who left in the victim's 2007 Ford Explorer, police said. The Explorer was recovered, police said. The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weight around 175 pounds. He was wearing a black hat, a black jacket, black shirt, black pants and black shoes and was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun, police said. Police ask residents with information to call Investigator Nelson Viera at 580-4212, or Crimestoppers at 735-2255.

Thefts reported

*Sylvia Pilkington of N.C. 111 South reported stolen on Wednesday about $2,935 worth of goods from her home, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said.

*Earl Aycock of Boyette's Road Pond Road, Pikeville reported stolen on Wednesday an antique Pepsi machine worth an estimated $1,500, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said. The machine was located at a storage building at the intersection of U.S. 117 North and Belfast Road, authorities said.

*Latoya Sasser of Astor Court reported on Wednesday electronics worth $1,450 stolen from her home, Goldsboro police said.

*Ricky Moore of Angela Drive reported on Wednesday that his silver 2000 Ford Focus stolen from the 600 block of Courtyard Circle, Goldsboro police said.
