New members appointed to commissions, boards

Goldsboro City Council appointed new members to a few of the city's advisory boards and commissions Monday night.
Many of the entities had members whose terms expired or who had moved away.
The Recreation and Parks Advisory Commission has two high school student appointees -- Ebony Haggans and Amber McCreary. Their terms expire Aug. 31, 2008.
Milas Kelly Jr. and C. Brian Woodard were appointed for their second terms to the commission, and their current term will expire Dec. 31, 2010. William D. McRoy was appointed to his third term, which will also expire at the end of December 2010.
The Community Affairs Commission has two third-term members whose terms will expire Dec. 31, 2009 -- Brenda Warren and LeVeda K. Copeland. Kim Parrish was appointed to the commission for her second term, and Marion Lake Appleton was appointed to her first term. Both of their terms will also expire at the end of 2009.
The Planning Commission has one appointee. Joyce Duncan will serve on the commission for the first time. Her term will expire Dec. 31, 2012.
Two people were appointed to the Appearance Commission. Lee Yahnker was appointed for a second term, while Roy J. Parker III was appointed to a third term. Both terms will expire Dec. 31, 2011.
The council appointed Farris Duncan for a first term, which expires on Dec. 31, 2011, on the Goldsboro-Wayne County Public Library Board of Trustees, as well as appointing Debbie Pittman to a first term on the Historic Commission. Ms. Pittman's term will expire Dec. 31, 2011.
Elroy Coley was appointed to the Firemen's Relief for a third term, which will expire Dec. 31, 2009.
The Travel and Tourism Advisory Council had one second term appointee -- Randy Sauls -- whose term will expire the last day of 2010.
