Two clubs at Eastern Wayne Middle School have been actively contributing to the community recently.

The Knitting Club donated knitted caps they had made to Southeastern Medical Oncology Center, and have also begun knitting squares for the Warm-Up America Program and for the Snuggles Project, which provides blankets to shelter animals.

The One-Stroke Painting Club has donated paintings to be used by the Wayne County Public Library in the children's section. At the school, they have also used their talents to decorate several windows with painted snowmen.

Kathryn Jacoby, a teacher at the school, is advisor for both clubs.
