Disposing of Christmas trees in proper fashion

Looking to get rid of that dried out Christmas tree now that the presents are out from underneath it? You can take it out of the house at any time, but when it might be picked up from your curb depends on where you live. Just remember to take all those ornaments and tinsel off before tossing.
Goldsboro: Leave the trees on the curb on the days your yard waste is regularly picked up. For more information call 734-8674.
Mount Olive: Trees will be picked up on normal yard waste days beginning Friday. For more information call 658-9517.
Fremont: Trees will be picked up on normal yard waste days beginning Jan. 3. For more information call 242-4173.
Pikeville: Trees will be picked up on Friday and then on regular yard waste days beginning on Jan. 2. For more information call 242-5126.
Wayne County: County residents are asked to bring the trees to the landfill where they will be dumped in the construction and demolition cell during normal operating hours. They cannot be taken at the convenience centers. For more information call 689-2994.
