Police ask neighbors to look for missing man

Goldsboro police want residents of the Quail Park area to check storage sheds and other hiding places for a missing, injured man, an investigator says.
Investigator Dwayne Dean said Masonic Deonta Harvey, 25, was last seen in the area of Banks Avenue and Jefferson Street.
He was wearing a blue short-sleeve shirt and dark jeans and ran from emergency medical workers on Thursday about 2:30 a.m., police said.
Harvey reportedly had tried to swallow cocaine, then used a "stick-type object" to try to force the drugs down his throat, police said.
That action inflicted injuries that caused Harvey to bleed, police said.
Dean said Quail Park residents, especially those north of Royall Avenue to First Church Road, U.S. 70 and east of Wayne Memorial Drive to Quail Park should check their properties for Harvey.
Police did not know if the injuries were life-threatening, but a news release said Harvey was in "dire need of medical attention."
Harvey's sister Deborah Jackson said that Harvey was visiting a friend when the incident occurred.
Mrs. Jackson said that her brother thought he would be taken for psychological evaluation, causing Harvey to run.
"We're not sure what happened to him, or where he is now, actually," Sgt. Chad Calloway said.
"He didn't want to go the hospital, obviously. It's possible that he could be incapacitated in some way, shape or form. We really don't know."
