MOC students visit Boston

MOUNT OLIVE -- The Mount Olive College Campus Activities Board recently sponsored a trip to Boston for 18 students, which included an opportunity to learn about American history.
Under the leadership of Julie Beck, director of student activities, the group visited Harvard University, Boston Commons, John Hancock Towers, the Boston Massacre Site, Commonwealth Avenue, Prudential Center, Newberry Street and Trinity Church to name a few. While on the famous Freedom Trail, students got a firsthand look at the State House, Granary Burying Ground, Kings Chapel, Old South Meeting Hall, Old State House, the Paul Revere House and Bunker Hill.
There was also a surprise stop at the Boston Harbor, where students took a deep-sea cruise.
And on the Duck Tour, the group rode in a specially designed military vehcle that adapts from land to water.
The Campus Activities Board typically plans and coordinates a schedule of activities and events for students throughout the year, including movies, dances, carnivals, festivals and lectures. Its purpose is to build a unified community at the college through diverse and quality activities.
