Investigations

The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating these reports:

*Vicky Campbell of South William Street reported her home broken into last Sunday and a computer worth $540 stolen, police said.

*Kevin Whitley of Andre Drive reported his truck broken into in the 600 block of U.S. 70 East, police said. A handgun and music player worth $1,070 total were taken, police said.

*A man reportedly asked to see a $6,500 diamond ring at Alan Sutton Jewelry at 1803-C Wayne Memorial Drive, looked at it, handed it back to the jeweler and then grabbed the ring and ran.

*Somebody entered Joseph Allen Echols' unlocked 1990 Chevrolet truck while it was parked at his home on Porter Street and took $660 worth of items including two tool boxes and stereo installation tools.

*Neighbors chased a thief from a house he was seen leaving, and he dropped everything he had taken to get away from them. According to the report, the break-in occurred Thursday morning at the home of Monique D. Reaves on Wilmington Avenue. The items recovered and returned to their owner included a Playstation 2 and games and cassette tapes, all valued at $415.

*Thieves reportedly broke out a window and entered Christ Little Joy Child Care at 301 S. Carolina St., Goldsboro. Jewelry valued at $4,650 was reported taken.

*Laurena Woodard told police somebody she does not know fired a gun into her home on Dupont Circle, causing $300 worth of damage to three walls. She was unhurt.

*Clarence Lee McCarter of Azalea Drive reported that somebody stole his 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe while it was parked at his home.

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is investigating these reports:

*Cindy Dawn Merritt of Wake Forest said somebody broke into a house she owns on Dallas Road and took $595 worth of items including a stove, two saws, a concrete table and chairs, three refrigerators and 18 yard tools.

*Aldine Moore of Indian Springs Road in Seven Springs reported a black 1993 GMC Sonoma stolen from a country store near her home.
