MOUNT OLIVE -- A holistic healthcare practitioner from the Wayne County part of the LaGrange community is the Wayne-Duplin Business and Professional Women's Club 2007 Career Woman of the Year.
Catherine Elaine Triplet received the award Thursday night. Presenting the award was club member Sandra Torrans, who was named the 2006 State Career Woman of the Year.
Ms. Triplet, too, will go on to the state competition next summer in Asheville.
Ms. Triplet, who has two adult children, has been involved in the holistic healthcare business 13 years and is currently studying to be a Doctor of Naturology.
Ms. Triplet is the owner of Life Force Alternative Therapies, Inc. at 373 LaGrange Road where she does massage, bodywork therapy and energy work. She is also an ordained minister.
In her application, Ms. Triplet said her greatest joy comes from showing individuals how to live for themselves unconditionally.
"Unconditional love for the self as well as others is the most powerful way to receive healing for anything," she said.
"Take time to meditate so you can keep clarity about your intent and strategies for achievement. Stay detached from the outcome but always believe in yourself no matter what."
She was recommended for the award by Susan Crenshaw, owner of the Healthabit Natural Foods store in Goldsboro.
Other nominees for the award were retired school teacher Jo Cameron Jones, a reporter for the Warsaw-Faison News, and Chris Martin, human resource manager for Mt. Olive Pickle Co. in Mount Olive.
